Biography: Dr.Tomislav Dzhekov gained his Dipl. ing degree in electronics in 1967 and his M. Sc. degree in communications in 1972, both at the University of Zagreb (Croatia). As a Fulbright student and a research fellow at the Valley Forge Research Center, he obtained his PhD degree in spatial signal processing at the University of Pennsylvania (USA), in 1976. After graduation, dr. Tomislav Dzhekov was employed as a video-engineer in Radio and Television- Skopje. In 1969, dr. Tomislav Dzhekov moved to the School of Electrical Engineering at the Cyril and Methodius University, Republic of Macedonia, where he was engaged as a teaching assistant and later on, in 1974, as an assistant professor in electronics. In 1979 he was promoted into associate professor and in 1985 in full professor. Dr. Tomislav Dzhekov was a visiting professor to the Military academy of Republic of Macedonia, Technical Faculty of Bitola and University of Tetovo. Since October 2008, Tomislav Dzhekov is a professor at the European University of Macedonia, where he teaches Data communications, Principles of logic design and Computer architecture. Work experience: Dr. Tomislav Dzhekov served as Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering of the Cyril and Methodius University from 1987 to 1989. Dr. Tomislav Dzhekov participated, as a senior expert, in the ITU project "Feasibility study on local manufacture of telecommunications equipment in Nigeria" (1990/1991), where he conducted the R&D part. Dr. Tomislav Dzhekov was the coordinator of the JEP TEMPUS-PHARE project (S_JEP12103-97) "Development of Power Electronics Courses - Design and Applications". Besides, he was Academic Expert in the selections for the 2004, 2005 and 2006 Tempus Joint European Project calls for applications. His fields of interest are solid-states, digital electronics, signal processing and fotonics. Science and Research: Dr. Tomislav Dzhekov is the author/coauthor of over 50 scientific papers presented on international and local conferences or published in journals like Proceedings of IEEE, Electronics letters, Microelectronics journal, Journal of computational electronics and Informacije MIDEM. He is the author of a textbook (Microelectronics). Dr. Tomislav Dzhekov was the team leader of several national projects. Also, he was the person in charge for the Macedonian partner side of the Copernicus Project, No ERBIC 15 CT98 0107 (1998-2001), "System for water monitoring and sustainable management based on ground stations and satellite images". Dr. Tomislav Dzhekov is one of the founders of the ETAI society and his second president (1982) From 1998 to 2001, dr. Tomislav Dzhekov served as Vice Minister in science of R. of Macedonia.
