Econometrics and Statistics

Prof. Vesna Bucevska, PhD was born on the 18th February 1971 in Skopje. She graduated from the Faculty of Economics – Skopje in 1993. She has been working at the Faculty of Economics – Skopje since 1995 when she was elected junior assistant of a group of subjects from the field of the statistics and econometrics. In 1995 she she enrolled her graduate studies in Statistical analysis at the Faculty of Economics of University of Belgrade. In June 1999 she defended her master thesis “Characteristics of statistical tests” at the same Faculty and earned the MSc degree in statistical sciences. In 2000 she was elected assistant of a group of subjects in the field of statistics. In June 2002 she defended her doctoral thesis “Statistical Concepts and Techniques in the Process of Quality Control and Management” and obtained a doctoral degree. In November 2002 she was elected Assistant Professor of Econometrics and in October 2007 she was promoted in Associate Professor of Econometrics. In June 2012 she was elected Full-time professor of econometrics and financial economics, and in June 2017 was re-elected Full-time professor of econometrics and financial economics. Now she teaches the subjects Econometrics, Financial Econometrics and Statistical Quality Control at bachelor level, the subjects Econometric Theory, Advanced Econometrics and Statistical Quality Control in the second cycle study program „Statistical Methods for Business and Economics” and several scientific disciplines in the third cycle study programme “Statistical Methods in Business and Economics” and “Demography”. Prof. Dr. Vesna Bucevska today teaches the subjects Econometrics, Financial Econometrics and Statistical Quality Control in the first cycle of studies, and in the second cycle study the subjects of Theoretical Econometrics, Advanced Econometrics and Statistical Quality Control. He also teaches several scientific disciplines of study programs Statistical Methods in Business and Economics and Demography of Third Cycle Studies. Prof. Vesna Bucevska has significant international education experience at renowned European universities, such as the Department of Statistics, University of Munich, Germany, Central European University in Budapest, Hungary, the Department of Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics at the University of Cambridge, Great Britain, the Department of Mathematical Statistics of Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden, the Department of Economics of University of Bocconi, the Department of Economics of the Faculty of Economics “Federico Caffe” of the University Roma Tre in Rome, Italy, the Department of Statistics of University Carlos III in Madrid, Spain, the Chair of Applied Statistics and Econometrics of Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz, Germany, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics in Chengdu, China, etc. Under the Erasmus Plus program, prof. Dr. Vesna Bucevska delivered lectures in econometrics at Freie Universitaet Faculty of Economics in Berlin, the Faculty of Economics at the University of Zagreb and the Faculty of Economics at the University of Ljubljana. She also held a lecture at the Russian Customs Academy in Moscow. Her main research areas are econometrics, financial econometrics, statistics and statistical quality control. In these research fields Prof. Vesna Bucevska, Ph.D. published five university textbooks (out of which one in English), two lecture notes in Macedonian and six lecture notes in English and 120 scientific papers in renowned international scientific journals. She has participated with conference papers in numerous international scientific conferences in her areas of ​​interest. Prof. Vesna Bucevska, Ph.D. is the winner of the award for the Best Scientist in the field of Social Sciences at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje in 2017.
