Biography
Katerina Toshevska – Trpchevska was born in Skopje on 15.02.1979. She holds B.A. degree in Economics; M.Sc. degree in Economics, and Ph.D. in Economics since 2012, all from the Faculty of Economics, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University, Skopje – Republic of North Macedonia. Currently she is enrolled in the Postdoctoral Training “Social Sciences and Humanities in a Post-crisis period” 2022/2023 organized by the European Scientific Institute, ESI. Since 2001 she is employed at the Faculty of Economics, University Ss. Cyril and Methodius, Skopje and in 2022 she was elected as Full professor on Multilateral Trading System and International Trade Transactions. She also teaches Regional Trade Agreements and WTO at the Postgraduate European Studies and Multilateral Trading System and European Economic Integration at Doctoral Studies in Economics. From 2019 she is appointed as Head of the Department of International Trade and member of Dean’s Board. Under her supervision the Faculty of Economics became host of the UNCTAD Regional Courses on Key Aspects on the International Economic Agenda in the Countries of Transition and in October 2021 and July 2023 two regional courses were held at the faculty with physical presence. During her university career she has published more than sixty papers, participated in more than one hundred domestic and international conferences, seminars and workshops and done few study visits abroad: at the Saint Joseph University (USJ), Macao; at the University of Szeged, Faculty of Engineering in Szeged, Hungary; at the the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra, Faculty of Economics and Management, Slovakia; at the SGH Warsaw School of Economics in Warsaw, Poland, granted by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange – NAWA in the framework of Exchange Program for students and scientists as part of bilateral cooperation in 2023, at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg, Germany in 2019, at Porto Accounting and Business School – ISCAP of the Instituto Politecnico do Porto in Porto, Portugal in 2019, at the George Washington University in Washington, USA in 2007; and at the Faculty of Economics on the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Lisbon, Portugal in 2005. She has also participated at the 12th WIPO-WTO Colloquium for Teachers of Intellectual Property organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva in 2015 and participation at the 24 Regional course on Key Aspects on the International Economic Agenda in the Countries of Transition” in organization of UNCTAD at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Belgrade, Belgrade, Serbia in 2012. She has also graduated from the Online Intensive Programme organized by Riga Graduate School of Law in 2020. She has been actively involved in two international projects: Tempus project JEP_17013-2002 "Continuing Education in European Affairs: Establishment of European Integration Training Centre", Faculty of Economics – Skopje, Macedonia; and ASO Project “The Role of Education for the Duration of Unemployment”, Faculty for Business and Economics, Maribor, Slovenia. She has participated in two national research projects: “Introducing the Authorized Economic Operator Concept in Republic of Macedonia according to the Rules of the World Trade Organization” and “Study to Measure Clearance and Release of Goods Time”. She has done several visiting lectures abroad: at the University of Szeged, Faculty of Engineering in Szeged, Hungary; at the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra, Faculty of Economics and Management, Slovakia, at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg, Germany; at Porto Accounting and Business School – ISCAP of the Instituto Politecnico do Porto in Porto, Portugal; at the Faculty of Economics and Management, University of Bialystok, Bialystok, Poland. In 2024 she was visiting professor at the Prague University of Economics and Business.
