Professor at Medical Faculty, with teaching experience with undergraduates, graduates, MS and Ph.D. students, residents, as well laypersons (training program in BLS with AED).
I am a non-invasive cardiologist, with an area of expertise in nuclear cardiology. My areas of clinical and scientific interest are preventive cardiology, DM, and dyslipidaemias in the context of CAD, coronary artery disease (acute and chronic), heart failure, and acute and intensive cardiovascular care.
Scientific activities and research interest
My research interests are in the predictive role of risk factors such as diabetes and hyperlipidemia on CAD outcome, the role of biomarkers in the diagnosis and prognosis of CAD, coronary microvascular disease, and the role of non-invasive imaging modalities in the
management of CAD. The special emphasis is on the role of Registries and the utilization of data from the registries.
I am FESC (Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology), for the period 2018-2022 I’m a nucleus member of the Working Group for Coronary Pathophysiology and Microcirculation, serving as a Communication coordinator, I’m a national representative in the ACVC association. I have served as a national reviewer of three ESC Guidelines., and a reviewer of more than 50 papers in respected medical journals, some of them indexed in the Web of science.
Authored and co-authored around 50 PubMed listed publications, a little bit more in the SCOPUS database.
