Dr. Elena Ristovska was born on July 11, 1981, in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia. She completed her secondary education at the State Secondary Medical School "Pance Karagjozov" in Skopje in 2000 with excellent results. She finished Medical faculty at the University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Skopje. She graduated in 2007, with an average grade of 8.5 and obtained a professional title - Doctor of Medicine. In November 2011, she was accepted into a full-time position at the Institute for Transfusion Medicine in Skopje, where she still works. From September 2013, she started specialization in the field of Transfusion medicine. Since July 2018, she is specialist transfusiologyst. She started doctoral studies in medicine, in academic 2017/2018 year at the Faculty of Medicine in Skopje. Professional and scientific activity They participate in congresses, seminars, expert meetings with authored and co-authored papers: 4th Congress on Transfusion Medicine of the Republic of Macedonia, 5th Congress on Transfusion Medicine of the Republic of Macedonia, European School of Transfusion Medicine (ESTM) in Milan in 2015, European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines (EDQM) in 2016, 19th Symposium of the Danube League on Thrombotic and Hemorrhagic Diseases in 2017, 7th Transfusion Congress in Belgrade in 2022. Dr. Elena Ristovska shows interest in research work even during her Medical faculty with a study stay in the field of interventional cardiology in 2006 at the Clinical Hospital for Cardiology, Rijeka-R. Croatia. They actively participate in professional and scientific work in the country and abroad, such as professional meetings, workshops, congresses in the field of transfusion medicine, hemostasis in the organization of domestic and international professional associations such as the International Society for Blood Transfusion (ISBT) , the International Society for thrombosis and hemostasis (ISTH) and others. In routine work as a doctor-specialist for blood testing on Department of blood donors (immunohaematological testing and markers of transfusion-transmissible infections) and pre-transfusion examinations, Department for ambulance treatment and treatment of patients with thrombotic and hemorrhagic disorders at the Institute for Transfusion medicine in Skopje. Since 2015, she has been the coordinator of the hemovigilance system. Since 2019, she has been the quality coordinator on the blood testing department. The candidate actively uses the English language and possesses a certificate of proficiency. She is a member of the Medical Chamber in the Republic of Macedonia, the Macedonian Medical Society and the Macedonian Association of Transfusiologysts. Dr. Elena Ristovska shows significant organizational abilities, participates in the education of students and participates in scientific- research work. She was chosen as an assistant at the Faculty of Medicine in 2018 and she is actively involved in the education of students and specialists in the field of transfusion medicine, especially in the area of serological and molecular blood group typing, as well as blood group antigens related to certain diseases. In the period from 2018-2020, she actively participate in the project of "Rare blood groups" supported by the Medical faculty, Skopje. She is the author and co-author of about 40 professional and scientific papers published in proceedings of congresses, seminars with international participation and professional journals.
