Dr. Driton Maljici is an assistant professor-doctor in sociological sciences at the Institute for Sociological, Political and Juridical Research - Saint Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. His research interest is focused on educational sociology, multiculturalism, social conflict and inter-ethnic relations. "The Persistence of Hope," a collection of 100 stories about the refugee crisis, is his first book. He has been part of many researches, presented at a number of international conferences and coordinated a number of humanitarian aid and legal aid initiatives for refugees. During the refugee crisis in Macedonia from 2015-2017, he was the coordinator of the project for psycho-social support of refugees led by NGO La Strada. He was also the coordinator of the project for legal assistance to refugees led by the NGO LEGIS.
