Dr. Driton Maljici is an assistant professor-doctor in sociological sciences at the Institute for Sociological, Political and Juridical Research - Saint Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. His research interest is focused on educational sociology, multiculturalism, social conflict and inter-ethnic relations. "The Persistence of Hope," a collection of 100 stories about the refugee crisis, is his first book. He has been part of many researches, presented at a number of international conferences and coordinated a number of humanitarian aid and legal aid initiatives for refugees. During the refugee crisis in Macedonia from 2015-2017, he was the coordinator of the project for psycho-social support of refugees led by NGO La Strada. He was also the coordinator of the project for legal assistance to refugees led by the NGO LEGIS. Apart from being part of the European Social Research (EOI) team, he also works in the project on social conflict in the Western Balkans led by the Institute for Sociological, Political and Juridical
