Prof. Dr. Olivera Rashikj-Canevska was born in 1984 in Skopje. She graduated (2006) and master's degree (2009) at the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of "St. Cyril and Methodius" in Skopje. Since February 2007, she has been working part-time as a demonstrator at the Institute of Special Education and Rehabilitation at the Faculty of Philosophy, and in May 2012 she was employed as a junior assistant. She defended her doctoral dissertation on the topic "Assessment of independence in the performance of daily activities and the need for occupational therapy in people with multiple sclerosis" in March 2013 at the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje, Institute of Special Education and Rehabilitation, and became doctor of sciences in special education and rehabilitation. She was elected to the position of assistant professor in June 2013. In August 2018, she was elected as an associate professor at the Institute of Special Education and Rehabilitation at the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje, while in April 2023, she was elected as a full professor.
In the period from December 2010 to December 2011, she worked as a special educator and rehabilitator (oligophrenologist) in the special elementary school "Dr. Zlatan Sremec" from Skopje. In June 2008, she became technical secretary of the international scientific journal published by the Faculty of Philosophy and the Institute for Special Education "Special Education Theory and Practice", and in November 2017, she was elected as the editor-in-chief of the journal. In the academic years 2014/2015 and 2015/2016, she worked as a professor - external associate at the State University in Tetovo at the Pedagogical Faculty - department for special education and rehabilitation.
