Biography
Biography Prof. Dr. Ana Selamovska is a full time professor at the Agricultural Institute, Department of Fruit Growing, at the University "St. Cyril and Methodius” in Skopje. She works on genetics and selection of fruit crops, genetic resources, plant breeding, propagation of plant material, quality control and varietal purity of propagation material and planting material of fruit species. She was born in 1966 in Skopje. She completed her studies in 1988 as the best student of her generation at the Faculty of Agriculture in Skopje. In the period from 1990 to 1993 she worked as a junior assistant in the subject Genetics at the Faculty of Agriculture in Skopje. She obtained her master's degree in 1994 in the group of genetics and selection of fruit crops, and in 2006 she obtained the title of Doctor of Agricultural Sciences at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Food in Skopje. From 1998 to the present day she has been working at the Agricultural Institute in Skopje. She was a visiting professor at the “Goce Delchev” University in Shtip (2009-2011) and is one of the founders of the Association of innovators "Mihajlo Pupin" from Skopje. She has won two second prizes (in 2014 and 2015) and one third prize (in 2013) at the Fair for Technological Innovations Tehnoma-Ekonova in Skopje. She is a participant in state commissions in professional and broader fields. Active blood donor, wife and mother of two children. Prof. Selamovska was part of the research teams in 26 scientific research projects, in 5 of them she was the leader. She has published 102 original scientific and professional papers.
