Purpose of equipment
The optical scanner is designed for capturing and digitising sensitive and other analogue sources (e.g. archival material, printed documents, periodicals), with an emphasis on the safe handling of materials and high-quality digital images for further research processing. It is primarily used by researchers in the field of digital humanities, but when capacity allows, it can also be made available to other users.

The scanner can be used subject to equipment availability and in agreement with the authorised contact person for research equipment (Robert Vurušič, robert.vurusic@inz.si). Priority is given to projects and tasks related to the digitisation and research use of cultural heritage and the development of digital humanities approaches.
