Description
TURISTICA is a private college with state concession which runs a 3 and 1 year undergraduate course leading to a bachelor's degree in tourism. It is located in Villa Maria in the heart of Portorož, a resort boasting a long-standing tourism tradition on the Adriatic coast. The college provides excellent conditions for study and work for both its students and academic staff. TURISTICA provides - interdisciplinary knowledge in the spheres of natural sciences and arts that is of key importance to the comprehension of tourism - expert knowledge and skills in the operations of catering and accomodation establishments, travel agencies, tour operators and other sectors of the tourism industry - managerial know-how for administering and managing small business systems, organizational units and sectors, and business functions - professional training for independent expert, managerial and executive posts in the hospitality and tourism industry. MISSION TURISTICA's mission is to - provide an undergraduate course in tourism that is compatible with the requirements of the tourism industry - educate highly qualified and competent tourism graduates - encourage research in tourism, and - contribute to the economic and cultural development of the region. INTERNATIONAL LINKS TURISTICA has established many important international links with other colleges, universities and institutions: Universita' degli studi di Venezia (Italy), Universite' d'Angers' (France), Hogeschool voor toerisme en Verkeer, Breda (Holland), Free University Brussels (Belgium), University of West England (Great Britain), the College of Hospitality and Tourism in Sze'kesefehe'rvar' (Hungary), Lynn University (USA), and also with the universities in Kalmar (Sweden), Rijeka (Croatia), Salzburg (Austria) and Haifa (Israel).
