The Faculty of Economics is an institution of higher education committed to education, scientific research, professional advice and consultancy in the field of economic sciences, business administration and information technology. A more detailed range of the faculty's activities is as follows: - economic analysis and economic policy - international economy and international business - organisation and management of companies and other legal entities - accounting and finance - entrepreneurship and management - marketing and planning within companies - methodology of economic, business and organisational sciences - informatics The Economics Faculty performs basic and applied research projects as well as developmental and other projects. It is involved in professional work, developmental activities and consultancy and fosters the activities of libraries and archives in the following centres: - The Central Economic Library - CEK - The European Documentation Centre - EDC - The Research Centre - RCEF, which has two subdivisions: The Institute for Business - Informatics and The Centre for the Promotion of Entrepreneurship - Data Analytical Service - PASEF - The Centre for Management Development and Training - CISEF - Publishing Unit. Since its beginning the faculty has had close links with similar institutions at home and abroad. On average more than 80 foreign academics visit the faculty every year. They take part in lecturing on different levels of study and in research work. The staff of the faculty are actively involved in international exchange programmes and regularly attend international scientific symposiums. In 1990 the faculty started cooperating in the TEMPUS programme, which was later followed by others: PHARE, ACE, CEEPUS, PRAGMA, SOCRATES and LEONARDO DA VINCI. The faculty has also signed 12 bilateral agreements with foreign faculties or universities.
