Description
Gorenje, d.d. has 6,600 employees and is the largest Slovene manufacture. Its turnover amounts to approximately 2 billion DM. Household appliance are the core business of Gorenje Group. 2 million appliances are produced annually as follows: - 950,000 refrigerators and freezers - 550,000 cookers, ovens and hobs and - 500,000 washing machines and dryers 93% are exported abroad; our marketed in over 60 countries. The most important ones are: Germany, France, Croatia, Austria, Denmark, the USA, Czech Republic, Poland, … All household appliances are produced in Velenje in a total area of 339,000 m. The manufacture and assembly are automated to a high extent. Robots are used to perform some operations. Production and sale of household appliances represent 90% of the turnover in the Gorenje Group. A wide range of large household appliances is sold as free-standing or built-in units. All products made in Gorenje are the result of company’s own development and research. New technologies bring new methods have become rather complicated. When developing new products in accordance with the latest technology, our principle is simple operation. The purpose of new technologies is to facilitate cooking, washing and food storing. Simultaneously, a great deal of attention is paid to design which is adjusted to world design trends. International awards (ICOGRADA EXCELLENCE AWARD) have proved our success.
