Abstract
On the basis of previously obtained results we wish to extend and deepen knowledge about selected fungi and their important metabolites which could be also interesting for industrial applications. We will concentrate on metabolism of three important metabolites: enzymes, lipids and pigments. We will search for similarities and differences in their biosynthesis during cultivation under defined submerged aerobic conditions. Selected microorganisms: extremophilic yeasts, filamentous fungi and basidiomycetes will be cultivated on different media and the influences of media composition on biosynthesis of the metabolite (lipid, enzyme, pigment...)will be followed. Larger amounts of enzymes will be prepared under favourable conditions and subsequently purified and characterized, with emphasis on keratinases with filamentous fungi and ligninases with basidiomycetes. From coulored fungal samples pigments will be isolated and determined by means of chromatographic and spectrometric methods. On the basis of results obtained we will be able to compare similarities and differences in biosynthesis and properties of metabolites with different fungi.
