Abstract
The project will focus its research onto conceptual problems of interests and onto tendencies in the development of modern pluralism and neocorporatism. At the same time it will try to establish which are the current main controversies and dilemmas in theoretical debates on democracy. Parallel to that it will inquire into modern tendencies in the development of political science and into term politics. In its empirical analysis it will focus on interests groups and political parties in Slovenia, along with State Council and parliamentary arena. Narrower sample in empirical analysis will serve as a ground for establishing ways of interaction among civil society, political society and some chosen institutions of Slovene State. Special attention in research will be given to neocorporatist patterns of interests’ conflict solving in the context of pluralist party democracy in Slovenia. The project will also encompass relationship between social cleavages and political (especially electoral) behaviour. This relationship will be theoretically and empirically based on dimension of space. Special interest will be given to administration in connection with democracy and interests.
