Abstract
The project explores the reasons for the low participation and the absence of mechanisms for the promotion of gender equality in the contries of East and Central Europe. The structural, ideological and historical reasons for this phenomenon are connected with the question of the nature of a political system and the perception of politics within these states. This is the groundwork for thinking of possibilities for the transformation of institutions and political agenda.
