Abstract
Research project Multicultural Research, on various ways, deals with contacts of the Slovenes with the world, intertwining and differentiation among the cultures, provides comparative analyses of the way of life and compares structuration of the cognitive or symbolic sytems in different parts of the world, it takes in account comparative aspects between cultural products in different parts of the world, and it traces their changes in contemporary world. Multicultural Research is developing both comparative methodology, with use of archival and other written sources, and classical methodology of ethnological and anthroplogical work: ethnographic work in the field.
In the fore is study of the contacts of Slovenes with neighrbour and more distant cultures through time and space. Researchers are interested ineverything that define Slovenese in relation to ''''foreign'''' and ''''different''''. Such a framework includes research topics which, at the first sight, may not have anything in common, but the core problems concertns similar problems of fundations of the local, European and general human identification.
