Abstract
The main task of proposed project is to investigate the development of phenomenological tradition in Slovenia. The central subjects for research are: the concept of truth in modern phenomenology and hermeneutics, the question of humanity and life-word, the theory of language, the hermeneutics of translation and the philosophy of art and culture. The primary operative thesis of this project is that contemporary phenomenological thought has analysed and described the limitations of human self-understanding. A special stress is laid on the question of slovene phenomenological and philosophical terminology. The problem of culture and language as such opens the perspecitve of cultural hermeneutics. The hermenetic point of view offers a different analysis of phenomenological tradition in Slovenia. Of particular interest is the historical and sistematic comparison between phenomenological traditions in Europe. In the first place will be handled the question, whether the phenomenological adiscussion of humanistic tradition give a chance for overcoming the crisis of modern humanity.
