Abstract
Our research team - historians and historians of art - is studying the remainders of material culture in Slovenia, from the High Middle Ages till today. As the team is working in the National museum, we are not limited to a certain type of objects, but devote our selves to the artisan'' s products and manufactued articles of all kinds as well as old books and images. We are interested above all in the original function of the objects and the circumstances of their beginning; the objects are in our belief historical sources, often much more expressive than the written ones.
