Abstract
This project involves complex research into all areas of the nation''s traditional spiritual culture which enable us to know ourselves better and are also important in Slovenia''s efforts to gain recognition in the process of European and worldwide integration. Textological (publication of a body of Slovenian folk songs and regional anthologies), ethnomusicological (publications of vocal and instrumental music) and ethnochoreelogical research (publication of collections on the heritage of Slovenian dance) encompass allforms of spontaneous creativity not carried out an any fixed time (i.e. not performances), without priore schooling, which evolves, preserves itself and is lost according to its own laws of existence, and which comes into being within all social strata.
