Abstract
The project includes fundamental researches into the history of Slovene art, from the late Middle Ages to the early 20th century, covering the fields of architecture, sculpture and painting. The selected thematic clusters (selected chapters on earlier and more recent architecture; Baroque sculpture in Slovenia; collecting, revising and publishing the sources relevant for Slovene art history; Baroque painting in Slovenia; Renaissance and Baroque architecture in the Vipava and the Soca valleys and the area of Gorizia) focus mainly on those spheres that have not yet been sufficiently investigated, and on the revision of the hitherto findings. The researches are based on the study of sources and literature, on field work (inspections and listing of artistic monuments, photodocumentation), and on comparisons with material from abroad.
