Abstract
A surface of a free-form 3D object is reconstructed from scanned points. Then, curves, that bound new patches and form the base for a new object, are drawn directly onto reconstructed surface. The patches are developed in plane patterns regarding deformation of materials. To increase pattern editing, they are represented in a parametric form by automatically determined and interactively inserted geometric constraints. A constraint solver is built in a connection between 2D patterns and 3D surface is established.
