Abstract
In the project some new measurement techniques are going to be developed which are based on the motion analysis system with passive optical sensors. These methods are a step forward in the orthopaedic diagnostics since they are non-invasive, quantitative, continuous and functional. We are planning to develop optical methods for testing anterior knee laxity of the knee with the aim to have the method suitable for each patient amd not only for a group of patients. In conjuction with results of our earlier mathematical modelling we are going to measure the Trendelenburg’s sign (the competence of hip abductors) in a clinically applicable and quantitative way.
