Abstract
Switching power converter built with the modules enables the reduction of number of components, shorter development time, increased reliability, and smaller final dimensions. We designed and built multiple converters with IGBT transistors for various voltages and powers. With the discrete modules for 400A current and 600V voltage we built and tested converter on the electrical vehicle drive. Converter is very robust to the influence of electromagnetic disturbance from the environment; likewise it doesn''t influence the environment. Also several control concepts were tested. With the use of SKiiP intelligent modules we built a converter-inverter for the uninterrupted power supply. The development of new PWM techniques for output voltage shaping have been take mostly high efficiency for energy conversion into consideration. Converters were constructed with modern MOSFET and IGBT intelligent modules for high performance and reliability.
