Abstract
Disconcerted activity of smooth muscles in human uterus corpus and cervix may lead to premature or long lasting delivery. We investigate the hypnotises that induced activity will contribute to the process of ripening of the cervix. It is our aim to electrically stimulate myometrium in ewes (in-vivo) through implanted electrodes. Elicited EMG response will be characterised for pregnancy and delivery. The findings will contribute to general knowledge of ripening process in humans.
