Abstract
Three research topics are integrated in the following project. Mechanisms of transcriptional and posttranscriptional regulation of lactoprotein gene expression will be studied to elucidate molecular basis of differential allelic expression. Genome scanning using a set of microsatellite markers and RAPD approach will be applied for detection of QTL''s for growth and fat deposition in chicken and pig. Genetic background of the Lipizzan horse breed will be elucidated on the basis of the mtDNA sequencing data and typing of 15 – 20 microsatellite loci.
