Abstract
For the development of position sensitive detectors for the ATLAS experiment the testing and radiation-hardness studies of 40 Mb/s optical links will be done. Performance of VCSELs will be studied in detail to evaluate their suitability as the light source for the links. The testing and radiation damage studies of microstrip detectors in connection with fast (25 ns) electronics will be done. The electrical services of microstrip detectors and electronics in ATLAS detectors will be provided on low mass tapes. A new method for etching the aluminium on kapton will be developed for production of such tapes.
