Abstract
The tissue-specific mechanisms of expression of mammalian CYP51 in liver as the main cholesterogenic organ and testis which show the highest level of CYP51 expression will be studied. The hypothesis that the tissue-specific regulatin of CYP51results in its dual function (cholesterol biosynthesis and synthesis of sterols with signalling properties) will be evalueted. Mouse CYP51 gene will be cloned and CYP51-loxP construct for conditional knockout with the Cre-loxPtechnology prepared. The role of CYP51in spermatogenesis in pig as a large model mammal will be studied.
