Abstract
The partnership is the result of our participation in the contact seminar “European Cooperation in the Field of Agriculture, Environment and Ecology” held in Poland last October. We all tried to make partnership among similar schools and we think we have got it. We are quite similar in number of pupils and staff, we are located in small towns and/or rural areas, we are surrounded by working class population and many pupils are immigrants. As the title for the project we agreed on GENERATION S[ustainability]. With the “S” we want to emphasize the most relevant aspects of our project:1. SUSTAINABILITY. We want to study the concept of sustainability and the need for a more efficient use of environmental resources in depth.2. However, "S" is also for STUDENT: our goal is to educate our pupils about this concept of sustainability and to raise their ecological awareness.3. “S” for SCHOOL: we want to incorporate this ecological consciousness into our school activities and our daily routines both at home and school, making our local areas more ecological. In short, we want to become “ECO-SCHOOLS”.4. “S” for SOCIETY: we seek to have influence on our neighbourhoods through the pupils' families.5. “S” for SCIENCE: we want to pay special attention to sparking our students' interest in the research of environmental issues from a multi-disciplinary perspective. In order to develop this ambitious project, we will focus on the following topics: energy and its efficient use, recycling, work opportunities in the field of ecology and ecological agriculture, environmental nature protection, artistic inspiration (music, literature ...). Each topic will be explored in each school and then shared and discussed in our subsequent meetings. Activities will be very varied and interactive.
