Abstract
A source of pollution of products in pharmceutical and food-processing industries by bacteria and metal ions are welded jionts in production installations. The influence of surface defects in the weld root and oxide films at the weld edge on medium pollution will be investigated in order to be able to elaborate acceptance criteria for welded joints. The results obtained will be applied in testing of welded joints in construction of new installations and in maintenance in the pharmaceutical and food-processing industries.
