Many problems are associated with reprocessing of polymeric wastes, while the most serious one is the poor mechanical properties due to incompatibility of different polymers. Recycling of heterogeneous polymeric wastes has attracted interest in recent years because some mechanical properties of heterogeneous thermoplastic wastes can be improved by the use of certain polymeric modifiers like so called compatibilizers which act as interfacial polymeric agents. Research will reveal new theoretical and practical knowledges on the field of compatibilization of heterogeneous polymeric wastes which are still limited. A role of blend composition, compatibilizer concentration, chemical structure and molecular weight of compatibilizer, number of blocks in compatibilizer molecule as well as UV-degradation on compatibilization effectiveness in blends of heterogeneous polymeric wastes will be studied. Improving of some mechanical properties (impact strenght, elongation at break) of recycled heterogeneous polymeric wastes is expected due to the interfacial activities of compatibilizers. The aim of such researches is to produce recycled polymeric materials with improved properties without separation of different polymers. The method can be used for industrial as well as municipal heterogeneous polymeric wastes.
