Abstract
The proposed research project is devoted to the study of radio communications and digital signal processing. The research results will be used for the identification, evaluation, and simulation of Universal Mobile Telecommunication System UMTS. Strong emphasis will be put on the study of modulation, coding and equalization techniques. Optimal and suboptimal receiver structures will be studied. Part of the research work will be devoted to the problems of quality of service, security, reliability and interoperability between the fixed and mobile networks.
