Abstract
High coercivity powders based on intermetallic alloys of rare earth’s and transition metals are used as basic material for bonded magnets. HDDR processed powders can exhibit high coercivities but are very sensitive to the atmospheric conditions due to their composition and high surface activity. The final goal of the project is to develop a technology for the protective coating of nanocrystalline powders, which could be used for the production of bonded magnets in air. This technology should also be convenient for the protection of fine powders based on nitrides of RE-TM alloys.
