Abstract
The project includes basic research related to the preparation and characterisation of materials based on some pure or mixed metal oxides, oxide fluorides or fluorides. Such materials will be tested in acid-catalysed vapour-phase reactions and we will attempt to determine the relations between the surface properties and catalytic activity. An important field of application of the bove-mentioned reactions is the production of alternatives to chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) from the group of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs).
