Abstract
Realising the mobility process of the students and employees of the Christian Theological Academy in Warsaw in the academic year 2016/17 within the Erasmus+ Programme is a part of bringing to life its values, which include tolerance, ecumenism and respect for divergence. Participation in the Erasmus+ Programme allows the Academy's employees and students, coming from different traditions, cultures and confessions, to broaden their intercultural competences on a European level, as well as establish connections which result in deepening the professional knowledge and competences used by the lecturers in their daily didactic and scientific work, and by the students in their activity during the studies (participating in students’ scientific conferences), as well as later at work. Due to its small size, in the year 2016/17 the Christian Theological Academy realised 6 mobilities, including 2 academic staff mobilities for teaching, and 4 staff mobilities for training. Over the period of the agreement the Academy also hosted one lecturer and one person from a partner institution, who came here to train. All the mobilities were realised according to the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE). The employees' participation in the mobilities has not only allowed them to develop their professional skills, but also broadened the possibilities of further professional career, deepened the competences in organisation and management, as well as language, allowed to develop a professional network of contacts, and presented with examples of good practices in the foreign institutions. Guest lectures at the Academy, realised within the Erasmus+ Programme, have also allowed, in the year of the Jubilee of 500 Years of the Reformation, to enrich the curriculum of the Theological Studies with lectures providing insights on the results of the research on the Reformation, conducted by one of the most eminent Central European scholars in the field of Martin Luther’s theology. The visit of the employee of the partner institution to train has allowed the Academy’s employees to share good practices related to studies in the field of Orthodox Theology, and has contributed to a better cooperation within the Erasmus + Programme in the following years. Thanks to the participation in realisation of the incoming and outcoming mobilities, the Christian Theological Academy in Warsaw has also gained more international contacts, which serves the development of its didactic and scientific potential. These activities have a significant influence on the Academy’s condition. In a long-term perspective the exchange within the Erasmus+ Programme is a significant element of internationalizing of the Academy, allowing it to broaden both didactic and research perspectives.
