Abstract
The central point of the proposed research project is a study of the nonlinear dynamical system defined by the initial boundary value problem describing the motin of a beam in the ambient space. The account will be taken mainly of the qualitative and quantitative (analytical and numerical) methods of the theory of nonlinear differential equations and dynamical systems, which have ben proved successful in obtaining or/and predicting several properties of the physical phenomena. The exact (Reissner''s) geometrical theory of beams will be considered.
