Abstract
The research will deal with those among criminal cases against hanour and name, which in the descriptions of acts about criminal cases are included in Act 169 of the Criminal Law of the Republic of Slovenia, committed in public, particulary in mass media.
The aim of research is to use an interdisciplinary approach (language stylistics - the theory of legislation) in order to enlighten those criminal processes and verdict against journalists, presented by private plaintiffs as a result of offense in press since 1990.
The number of these plaints and cases resulting from offense have been considerably increasing, through articles of the Criminal Law in the independent State of Slovenia do not differ from those in the republic legislation on the former Yugoslavia.
The aim of the research is to offer a statistical review of the cases in question, while its practical goal is to get applicable lists including the scale of stylistic terms. The results of the research will be useful to journalists on the one hand (showing them how to write criticaly without causing offense), on the other hand to lawyers (of private plaintiffs and the accused), and judges.
