Abstract
The TRAILs project focused on the preparation, design, and implementation of an innovative, research-based, and robust Europe-wide teacher training programme for teachers of languages for specific purposes (now LSP), in response to the finding that most higher education teachers in this field have not received specific training. Originally scheduled for September 2020 in Zagreb, the training event had to be moved to February 2021 due to the pandemic. Conducted online from 22 to 26 February 2021, the event included 11 modules addressing the professional development needs of future and current LSP teachers.
Significance for science
The project contributed to the development of the field of education of teachers of foreign languages for specific purposes by providing training based on the analysis of empirical data obtained through online questionnaires and semi-structured interviews.
Significance for the country
The project contributed to the development of the field of education of teachers of foreign languages for specific purposes in Slovenia in two ways, namely through the participation of Slovenian researchers in the project, and through the participation of Slovenian participants in the online training event.
