Abstract
We propose to develop new techniques for coupling thin-layer chromatography (TLC) with mass spectrometry. The use of digital camcorders, digital photocameras and scanners for data acquisition from TLC plates and their use for quantitative evaluation and documentation will be studied. We will contribute to the introduction of new stationary phases and new software for image analysers. The effect of secondary chromatography on the quantitative evaluation of TLC and HPTLC chromatograms with densitometer and image analysing system will be investigated by photoacoustic spectroscopy and IR radiometry.
