Abstract
Novel and noninvasive optical methods (near-infrared spectroscopy, laser Doppler flowmetry, fibre-optic oximetry) will be applied for measurement of perfusion and oxygenation in experimental tumors in mice. Blood flow-modifying procedures will be used to alter perfusion of tumors. The final goal is to develop protocols for use of these metods in clinical environment where the ability to determine and to alter perfusion and oxygenation of individual tumors is important because blood and oxygen supply affect tumor growth and treatment outcome.
