Abstract
Purpose of the project is a research of nanometre-size tubes that constitute a fascinating new class of materials which a broad range of potential applications. Studies performed as a part of this research project will focus on the synthesis and separation of well defined pure products. Functionalisation of carbon nanotubes as well as encapsulation of foreign atoms will be performed. Investigated will be effect of the groups attached on the nanotubes on the incorporation of different compounds. Transport, optical and magnetic properties of synthesized materials will be measured.
