Abstract
Nowadays digital forensics is one of the foundations in the area of information security. With the daily increase in fraud, there is a need for more effective tools and approaches to prevent them. As part of the given research and development project, we present the integration of new data and visual analytics algorithms into the client's existing analytical platform, which enables improved digital forensic analysis of heterogeneous structured data that are part of a complex network representing different domains (e.g. financial data streams, social networks, etc.). As part of the research task, suitable artificial intelligence algorithms would be developed and integrated in order to achieve improved data analytics, whereby hidden information and anomalies in complex networks could be found in an automated manner. Furthermore, the visual analytics would be modernized by introducing new visualization techniques for presenting multidimensional data, while also introducing the possibility of incorporating new data flows. Along with the studying of appropriate algorithms and their integration, strengthened cooperation between security authorities and University of Maribor, Faculty of electrical engineering and computer science (UM FERI) would be encouraged in terms of research challenges in the field of national digital security.
