Abstract
Measuring social impact is a complex task and is implemented in rather small number of organizations. Namely, there is a lack of standardized and uniform measurement methodology that would enable easy measurement and reporting and would not impose an excessive administrative burden on organizations. The aim of the proposed project is to define detailed standards, criteria and indicators for measuring and monitoring social impacts generated by social enterprises and to prepare an applied model. The applied model, which will be developed on the one hand taking into account the specifics of the Slovenian social enterprise sector, and on the other hand harmonized with EU guidelines and internationally established methodologies and practices for measuring social impacts, will enable self-assessment of social impacts by social enterprise for reporting purposes. Therefore, within the proposed project we will analyze the existing methodologies and practices for measuring social impacts of social enterprises and other social economy entities abroad, as well as the specifics of Slovenian social enterprises, prepare a methodology for self-assessment of Slovenian social enterprises and other social economy entities and prepare instructions for measuring social impacts (according to the identified competence of the sector) and make recommendations for implementation. The implementation of measuring social impacts of social enterprises will contribute to a better understanding and measurement of the social impacts by several stakeholders, ie. state and public authorities, investors, users of products and services and social economy entities, and provide them with additional access to financial resources. In this way, we could significantly strengthen the importance of social enterprises and the social economy in today's economies, as well as the more sustainable operations of other economic entities, which is becoming the norm of economic activity in Europe and worldwide.
