Abstract
Businesses and academia recognize that the use of Data Mining (DM) technologies is a critical success factor in the global market economy. Large amounts of information available in electronic form in databases and on the internet present a challenge to the research community. In this project, recently developed data mining techniques will be upgraded and new advanced techniques developed for intelligent data analysis and data mining based on the experience gained through prototype problem solving of end-users problems. New methods for data mining in databases and the internet will be developed, and methods for combining problem solutions and consensus building will be upgraded. Addressed prototype problem solutions will be developed in the area of economy, marketing, analysis of industrial processes, access analysis and user profiling. Failed and successful approaches will be analysed and disseminated, thus contributing to a better understanding of generic methodologies and their accessibility to non-expert users of data mining tools.
