Abstract
Prognosis is more favourable in early stages of bronchial carcinoma. Preneoplastic lesions and carcinoma in situ can be detected by fluorescence bronchoscopy. In patients with suspected centrallung cancer we shall look for changes of bronchial mucosa, make forceps biopsies for histological examination. We shall assess local spread of primary cancer and early stages of cancer and preneoplastic lesions in other parts of the bronhial system. Invasive carcinoma and carcinoma in situ will be treated by operation, irradiation or electrocoagulation.
