Abstract
50% of the male population aged over 50 have problems due to benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH). So far no causal treatment for its successful management is known. With our study we wish to assess the effects of the electromagnetic field on BPH. In the night hours, 60 patients with BPH will be exposed to magnetotherapy. The effect of treatment will be followed by means of an inquiry form (international inquiry for evaluation of symptoms by points BPH - IPSS), clinical examination and laboratory investigations (PSA, US). A decrease in prostatic edema is expected.
