Abstract
Heroin addicts with comorbid mental disorder require special and adjusted care. 40 heroin addicts with comorbid mental disorder wil be included in a prospective two year follow up study. All of them will receive methadone and additional psychiatric treatment.Sociodemographic and disease related data will be collected. Type of care and use of other services will be studied. The direct and indirect costs of heroin addiction and comorbid mental disorder will be calculated. Effectiveness of care and consumer''s satisfaction will be assessed.
