Abstract
Response to accidental spillage of oil and chemicals (HNS) should be as rapidly and effectively as possible to minimise the risk to human life and to the environment. Contingency plans are indispensable tools for promptly and effectively responding to spills. The “Development and implementation of a National Oil and Chemical Spill Contingency Plan for Slovenia” is a co-operation project between the Flemish and the Slovenian Government. The general objective of the Plan is to organise an early and effective response to oil and chemical spills affecting or likely to affect the area of responsibility of Slovenia and to facilitate national and international co-operation in the Adriatic Sea.
