Abstract
The project CARMENTA PF aims to design, prototype, and test a new-generation system that increases the survivability of fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft. The system faces a wide and heterogeneous spectrum of current and evolving threats in the operational area and selects the proper reaction mode. The project represents the second phase of EDIDPAIR-SPS Carmenta and includes an important flight test campaign as well as the development of digital models of each subsystem for simulation analysis.
Significance for the country
Participation in the CARMENTA PF project brings significant developmental benefits for Slovenia, as it strengthens domestic expertise in high-performance computing (HPC) and simulation technologies. The development and execution of digital models and simulations enable efficient validation of complex system behavior, enhancing the technological capabilities of Slovenian research institutions and companies. At the same time, it contributes to the advancement of solutions in the defense industry, fosters innovation, and reinforces Slovenia’s international position as a country with high technological and research potential.
