Abstract
CRP FRI DataAct is a research project involving the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Computer and Information Science, University of Maribor, Faculty of Organisational Sciences and ARCTUR. The project will create a methodology to assess the level of knowledge about the Data Act and maturity of the implementation of the Data Act in Slovenian organisations. The methodology will be based on a multi-criteria model that will allow for a transparent assessment of the maturity of each organisation, while on the other hand the data from the set of self-assessed organisations will also serve the aim of tracking the current state and supporting further decision making by decision makers in promoting the implementation of the regulation. The methodology will be implemented in a web-based software that will allow organisation to use it autonomously by capturing data via a web interface, automatically transferring the data into the model and calculating the score, and automatically generating feedback for the organisations. At the same time, to raise awareness among organisations, educational seminars are planned to address the challenges of implementation and effectively applying the Data Act at the technical level of support processes and compliance with the Data Act.
Significance for the country
The company ARCTUR will lead the development of a web-based software solution for assessing the level of knowledge and the degree of implementation of the Data Act in Slovenian organisations. This will enable Slovenia to establish a digital tool for systematically monitoring organisations’ readiness to implement the European Data Act. This initiative will: - promote digital competences and understanding of the importance of the data economy, - enable more informed decision-making in the development of policies and digital transformation strategies, and - accelerate the practical implementation of the Data Act in both the economy and the public sector.
