Abstract
Social dimensions such as chronic diseases, socio-structural changes, a shortage of medical specialists, treatment in family medicine clinics, and the recent impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on people's mental health are not fully understood. Negative emotions or behavioral changes such as despair, helplessness, hopelessness, overload, anxiety, apathy, depression, loneliness, suicidal thoughts or actions, psychosomatic problems, alcohol or drug abuse, or pre-psychotic symptoms are signs of psychological and social well-being. Psychological changes caused by social or disease-related changes in experience and behavior increasingly contribute to a reduction in social contacts and social abilities in older people or individuals who need care at home or in institutional care.
The aim of the EDU-MENT project is to provide nurses with training (5 ECTS) to address the psychosocial behavioral changes of clients in home care and institutional care. The training will include the development of digital competences and skills for the early detection, monitoring, and management of changes in psychosocial behavior.
